2021 Symposium

Whether you are a veteran advisor or new to the profession, you'll benefit from this ideal mix of learning, engaging with peers, and networking. Gain new insights and take back ideas you can put into practice right away.

No matter how experienced you are, everyone can learn. Today's workplace can often be isolating, and without exposure to a variety of points of view, we can miss new ideas and trends that can impact future results. The educational aspect of our symposium can expose you to new ways of conducting your business and help you discover how to be more productive.

This symposium provides a great opportunity to network. Avoiding peers for fear of others discovering your competitive advantage can actually limit your own success. Collaboration is the way to approach networking.

Session 3: Monetizing Home Equity with Today's Reverse Mortgage

Homeowners aged 62 and older currently hold a record $7.8 trillion in home equity. This age group holds 1/3 of the country’s housing wealth and yet nearly 37% of retirees are worried about their financial security in retirement. Unfortunately, most homeowners 60+ don’t realize that a reverse mortgage can help them monetize their home equity and take control of their finances regardless of market volatility – allowing them to access income-tax-free* cash to help fund their retirement needs and goals. After attending this webinar, you’ll be able to educate your clients on the benefits of reverse mortgages, and you’ll be able to create a buffer asset for your clients to avoid selling at losses and prevent sequence risk, while creating a larger legacy.

Participants will: Learn what improvements have been made and what consumer safeguards have been added to reverse mortgages in recent years; Learn the four common reverse mortgage strategies for increasing retirement stability; Learn the different types of reverse mortgage loans, both federally-insured and proprietary, for real-life applications; Learn how to demonstrate reverse mortgage solutions for eligible clients.

Accepted for one (1) hour of continuing education by CFP Board.

This session will help you understand our key messages for clients and how the actions and reactions around the world reflect the true global economy we live in.

Participants will: Economic outlook risks have evolved since the beginning of the year; Health risks remain o Inflation “scare” of 2021 strong but transitory; Lower-for-longer returns to stay, but pockets of opportunity; An uneven global recovery; U.S. Monetary policy • China’s policy priorities; Global equity expectations and fixed income outlook; Risks of inflation on some portfolios; How high (or low) could crypto prices go.
