May 1, 2018 -- Hello! All of us on the FPA of Northeast Florida’s Board of Directors hope things are going well for you as 2018 continues. Many of you have benefited from the valuable programming that’s already occurred this year, including continuing education sessions on elder affairs and tax planning with the new TCJA tax reform, and Practice Management Roundtables discussing solutions to client attrition and career development.

More importantly, we invite you join us for the engaging and informative programming we have planned for the rest of the year. Mark your calendars now for the following events:

  • May 17th: Chapter Social at Mastermind Escape Games
  • May 24th: Beware, the Bully Lives! With national speaker and compliance
          attorney Tom Giachetti
  • June 18th: Chapter Social
  • August 23rd: Ethics for CFP® Professionals
(fulfills ethics requirement for CFP® recertification)
  • September 18th: Practice Management Roundtable – the Future of Our Profession
  • October 18th: Annual Symposium
  • November 15th: Chapter Social
  • December 12th: Economic Forum – What’s Ahead in 2019?

And the Survey Said
During Q1, we had invited you to participate in a member survey, to determine member preferences for meeting times, purpose, and topics of interest. Thank you to all those who took the time to participate. The general findings were as follows:

  • Preferred meeting times: anytime except mornings! Afternoon, late afternoon,
          and evening were all popular.
  • Primary reason for participating in local programming: Professional development
and CE opportunities, with networking opportunities following those first two purposes.
  • Topics of interest: the range here was broad, but most of the topics suggested centered
around advanced financial planning, practice management, and business development
          skills.

Your board appreciates your feedback, and continues to work to implement your suggestions into the local programming, to make it valuable to as many members as possible.

Let me also say that your continued feedback is welcome at any time. If there is anything you’d like to share with me directly, please don’t hesitate to email me at michelle.ash@wealthguards.com.

Continued best wishes for a bright and prosperous 2018!
